I haven’t watched a new anime in a while, but some of my favorites were Ah! My Goddess, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Slayers, Dragon Ball, and most of the Studio Ghibli films. They were each endearing in their own ways, but all had something that truly stood out to me as icons of their times, with Ghibli being like Disney: timeless at any period.
In fact, when I started to think that drawing may have been my thing, I did a lot of modelling after Akira Toriyama’s style. Even now when I draw things I see remnants of that in my pieces. He played a very large role in my life growing up around anime.
